Taking an athletic turn for this year’s celebration, the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) unveiled the official list of activities for the 39th Kadayawan Festival which included the world-renowned triathlon IRONMAN 70.3 Davao.
The IRONMAN 70.3 is set to take place from August 9 – 11 with a new route featuring the Davao City Coastal Road, and Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur for the 90-kilometer bike run.
Athletes will be competing in the 1.9-kilometer open water swim, 90-kilometer bike run, and the 21.1-kilometer half marathon on August 11.
The Gwapa Dabawenya Fun Run will be on August 9 while the IronKids Run and Duathlon will be on August 10.
With the new route for the IRONMAN 70.3, the City Government of Davao and the organizers of the events hope to feature the picturesque landscape of Davao City, as well as to further boost the influx of tourists in the city.
