The Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) is inviting Dabawenyo e-Sports enthusiasts to participate in the Duaw Davao’s Inter-Barangay Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Tournament on June 30.

The Inter-Barangay MLBB Tournament is one of the official events for the Duaw Davao Festival and is the first initiated e-Sports tournament in the City. The tournament is also exclusive for residents of Davao representing their respective barangays.

Each barangay can send at least 5 teams with 8 players composed of 5 main players and 3 substitute players.

Krizzy Daugdaug, CTOO’s e-Sports Consultant, said during the I-Speak Media Forum that interested participants must submit a copy of their PSA, valid ID, and Barangay Certificate mentioning that they have been residents of the barangay they are representing for at least three months before the tournament.

Eligible players must also be 15 years old and above. For players below 18, a parent’s consent must be furnished.

Daugdaug also said that more than just an event staged for tourism purposes, the tournament also intends to promote health awareness and responsible gaming to E-Sports athletes in the city. In line with this, she said that before the final tournament on June 30, qualified teams will undergo a health awareness seminar.

“Naa ta’y healthcare awareness campaign na i-pursue during this tournament na before sila mu-compete on the day sa June 30, they need to attend it.
