The city government-operated Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) celebrates the fifth year of its establishment and the milestones it accomplished over the years.
DCDR Station Manager Shannon Pabroa in an interview said that over the years, DCDR stood strong, and is ranked the fifth most listened to, out of 26 FM radio stations in Davao City, according to the 2024 3rd quarter survey of KBP-Kantar Media.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the station’s ability to effectively connect with its audience, even without the commercial advantages given the station’s non-competing and non-commercial nature,” Pabroa said.
Pabroa added that the accomplishment highlights the station’s success in engaging its audience and emphasizes the station’s unique position and ability to foster a strong connection with listeners – thus serving the community and meeting the needs of its audience, making sure that no one will be left behind in the dissemination of information.
Pabroa said that aside from Davao City, the station also serves as a learning venue for other municipalities that have conducted benchmarking on how to operate their radio station.
She thanked all the Dabawenyos who continue to support DCDR.
“Daghan kaayong salamat sa atong pinalanggang Dabawenyo nga padayon nga nagapaminaw, nagasuporta ug ginapili ang sakto nga impormasyon para sa tanan nga resident dinhi sa Davao City. Atong ginapaningkamutan nga madeliver gyud sa ilaha ang mga important ug mga tinuod na information, dili lang dinhi sa davao city pati na sa ubang balita nga pwede makaapekto or in relation sa Davao City (We thank our beloved Dabawenyos for their continued patronage and support, and for choosing accurate information. We are doing our best to deliver important and accurate information but also other news that will have an impact on Davao City),” Pabroa said. CIO
