The City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) has started accepting entries for this year’s RondalSayaw sa Araw ng Dabaw.

“Don’t miss the chance to showcase your talent and be part of this vibrant celebration,” the CTOO said in its post.

RondalSayaw 2025 is a Rondalla and Folk Dance competition during this year’s celebration of the Araw ng Dabaw.

All Rondalla families, churches, schools, and communities are eligible to participate in the tournament. Anyone of any age can become a member. A group needs one conductor and at least 10 to 20 performing members.

A Rondalla group’s repertoire will include a piece provided by the organizers and a piece chosen by the contender. Any song may be used in the contestant’s work, but it must adhere to the 88th Araw ng Dabaw theme.

In the Folk Dance competition, there will be three categories– children, junior, and adult.

Both public and private elementary schools are eligible for the children category. The participants must be between the ages of 7 and 13. “Easy Rural Dances” is their dance category.

The junior category is open for Junior High School students from both private and public schools. The participants must be between the ages of 14 and 17, and they need to perform Rural Dances with Rhythmic Instruments.

The open category is available to professional, community, and college groups with members who are at least 18 years old. They will be performing Spanish-influenced dances.

A group must have total of eight pairs of male and female dancers.

Deadline for submission of entries is on February 24.

The school principal must certify the list of participants for the junior and children’s divisions.

The RondalSayaw’s elimination round will be held at the Annex Event Center, SM City Davao at 10 a.m. on March 2. The Grand finals is scheduled on March 8 at the Rizal Park.

The Rondalla competition’s winner will get P100,000. A cash prize amounting to P75,000 and P50,000, respectively, will be awarded to the second and third places. Non-winners will receive a P25,000 consolation reward.

Winners in the three categories for the Folk Dance competition will get P75,000. The second and third-place finishers will get P50,000 and P35,000, respectively. Non-winners will also receive a P25,000 consolation award.
