The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported it has not recorded any untoward incident during the opening of the Duaw Davao Festival on June 21.

DCPO Spokesperson, P. Cpt. Hazel Tuazon, said in an interview with the Madayaw Program over the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) that the conduct of activities during the opening of the Duaw Davao was generally peaceful.

On June 21, Duaw Davao, the new summer festival of the city, kicked off with a music festival at Rizal Park. This was followed by the coronation of the Reyna ng Davao on June 22, and the much-awaited Pride Parade on June 23 with a large number of Dabawenyos taking part.

Tuazon said that the DCPO along with the other safety and security clusters of the city will continue its efforts in ensuring the safety and security of every Dabawenyo not only during the celebration of the festival but daily as well.

She also said that there are 480 DCPO personnel deployed in every event venue for the Duaw Davao Festival until its culmination on June 30.

The DCPO continues to remind Dabawenyos to cooperate with the security cluster and to always follow the safety and security protocols of the city. CIO
