The City Government of Davao, through the City Health Office (CHO), will hold a fun run for Dengue awareness with some 2,500 participants from different local government offices, barangays, and other stakeholders.
The fun run will be held at the Davao City Coastal Road on July 28.
Dr. Tomas Miguel Ababon, Head of the CHO, said they intend to further strengthen the information dissemination on dengue and the importance of the dengue task force in the barangays in stopping cases of the disease in the city.
“Kani siya (fun run) isa sa pamaagi nga to create awareness sa mga lumulupyo sa siyudad sa Davao bahin sa dengue (This is one way of raising awareness to the residents regarding dengue),” Ababon told the City Information Office.
The CHO has been urging the barangays and all Dabawenyos to practice the 5S strategies which include searching and destroying possible mosquito breeding sites; practice self-protective measures; seeking early medical consultation; supporting indoor and outdoor spraying and fogging activities; and the importance of sustained hydration.
Dabawenyos are also urged to cooperate with the CHO’s intervention and prevention efforts to prevent dengue incidences in the city. CIO
