The City Government of Davao, along with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the Regional Taxi Operators Association (RTOA), on Tuesday launched the Taxi DCplinado campaign.

The campaign is a joint project of the City Traffic and Transport Management Office (CTTMO), LTFRB, RTOA, and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines to help address passengers’ concerns and complaints against erring taxi drivers.

The project is also in line with the city’s bid to promoting the culture of discipline or the Dabawenyo DCplinado.

As part of the campaign, the CTTMO and LTFRB distributed stickers containing the contact details of the Davao City Reports (DCR) that passengers may reach out to should they have issues and complaints relative to the taxi drivers when they are onboard a taxi.

“Ang nakabutang diha kay para makabalo sila kung asa sila mu-complain especially katong mga aduna’y complain sa overcharging ug katong contracting ug kaning atoang refused to render service or to convey passengers ug other behavior sa atoang mga driver nga dili maayo (The sticker contains information on where passengers may send their complaints especially those who have complaints on drivers who are overcharging, contracting, failure to convey passenger, refusal to render service, and any other untoward behavior of drivers),” he said.

Abude added that this initiative is not only for the benefit of Dabawenyo passengers but also for tourists.

“Generally, para madisiplina ang atoang ubang drivers ug para pud sa safety sa ang atoang mga bisita ug ang atoang mga pasahero nga diin mga Dabawenyo (This is also to discipline other drivers and to ensure the safety of our guests and our Dabawenyo passengers),” he said.

The stickers should be displayed inside the taxi behind the driver’s seat for the passengers, and on the vehicle’s dashboard.

He assured the public that there are personnels monitoring the numbers to promptly address concerns and complaints from passengers.

The city government also assures the public that the DCR is constantly coordinating with the LTFRB, CAAP, and other concerned agencies to ensure that taxi driver-related concerns are being addressed properly.

The DCR documents the reports and forwards the complaints to concerned agencies to ensure prompt and proper resolution of the issue.

Feedback and updates on the reports are also provided to the clients.

The city government and other agencies continue to urge taxi drivers to be disciplined and to refrain from untoward behaviors. Passengers who have concerns and complaints may contact the Davao City Reports through these numbers: 0919 072 2222 and 0917 131 2333. They may also send an email to davaocityreports@davaocity.gov.ph or through its Facebook Page: Davao City Reports. CIO
