The Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) said the main events of the 39th Kadayawan Festival were held over the weekend without a single security incident.
PSSO head Angel Sumagaysay on Monday said that even with the massive crowd for the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan and Pamulak sa Kadayawan, the police still managed to maintain peace and order by establishing security checks at the entry and exit points.
“It’s just an implementation of the security plan, actually,” Sumagaysay said.
He added that some 20,000 security personnel were deployed to secure the Kadayawan activities. The security personnel included those from the Police Regional Office and the Task Force Davao.
The deployment of security personnel will continue until the end of August to ensure a peaceful continuation of some Kadayawan events. CIO
