The Pasko Fiesta Banda Dasig competition concluded last December 18, 2022 at San Pedro St. Davao City with the Magallanes Elementary School Drum and Lyre Corps and the DMMA Marching Band as winners for the Elementary School-Based Category and the Open Category. The prize for first place is Php 300,000, second place- Php 200,000, third place –Php150, 000, fourth place-Php 100,000 and the fifth place—Php 50,000.

The Magallanes Elementary School Drum and Lyre Corps emerged as the victor for the Elementary School-Based Category, bagging Php 300,000 for the First Place award, and the five special awards: Best in Conductor, Best in Music, Best in Artistic Design, and Best Light.

Under the same category, the Piedad Central Elementary School Drum and Bugle Corps placed second, the Artemio Loyola Elementary School Drum and Bell Corps placed third, the Bolton Elementary School Drum and Lyre Corps placed fourth, and Vedasto F. Corquera Elementary School Drum and Lyre Corps came in fifth.

Meanwhile, for the Open Category, the Davao Merchant Marine Academy (DMMA) was awarded first place with special awards: Best in Conductor and Best in Music. Under the same category, the Mintal Comprehensive High School Harmonic Drum and Bell Corps placed second and also brought home the award for Best in Artistic Design.

The Max Mirafuentes Academy Community Marching Band also bagged the third place, the Davao Blue Eagles Scout Marching Band bagged the fourth place, and the Laureta National High School Marching Band came in the fifth place.

The Banda Dasig 2022, is a light drum and bugle, drum and lyre, brass and marching band competition and field demonstration. It is part of the official Pasko Fiesta 2022 events.

The remaining anticipated events of Pasko Fiesta are the Pasko at Musika at the University of the Philippines Symphony Orchestra which will perform on December 20, at 7 pm at the USEP Sports and Cultural Center, and the final round of the Sayaw sa Pasko Fiesta on December 23 at the Rizal Park.

On Christmas Day, December 25, 2022, Misa Dabawenyo will also be celebrated at San Pedro Cathedral.
