The City Government of Davao, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), distributed financial assistance to families affected by the July 13 fire incident in Barangay 2-A on July 26.
A total of 185 families were able to receive cash assistance along with food and non-food assistance consisting of kitchen sets from the CSWDO and the DSWD.
Sixty-four homeowners whose houses were razed by the fire received P20,000, while P10,000 was given to 27 sharers, 56 renters, and four caretakers, and P5,000 for boarders.
Kenny Maceres, an official from the CSWDO, said the financial assistance distributed to the victims of the fire was intended to help them find shelter other than the Magallanes Elementary School where they are temporarily housed, or as a starting fund to build their homes.
The payout was attended by the beneficiaries, CSWDO staff, and barangay officials. CIO
