The City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) has released the list of groups that survived the Koro sa Pasko elimination round on Tuesday.
Koro sa Pasko is an annual Christmas Chorale Competition spearheaded by the CTOO as part of the events during Pasko Fiesta.
Davao-based choir groups competed in four categories, namely Senior Citizens, school-based elementary, school-based high school, and the open category, during the elimination round on November 16.
The Bago Aplaya Tiny Trebles Choir, Besca Chorale, and the Mintal Senior Citizens Chorale are the senior citizen choir groups that made it to the competition’s grand finals.
For the school-based elementary category, the Catalunan Pequeño Elementary School Voice Club; Maa Central Children’s Chorus; and the Talomo Central Elementary School Chorale are moving forward to the grand final.
The BDCNHS Harmonic Chorale, Davao City National High School S.P.A. Centennial Choir, and the Kaduyog Youth Choir are proceeding to the grand finals for the school-based high school category.
Moving to the grand finals for the open category are the Barangay Talomo Youth Choir; DVE Alumni; Mindanao Chorale Ensemble; Serenata Singers; SPC Chorale; and the University of the Immaculate Conception Chorale.
Winners of the Koro sa Pasko will receive cash awards amounting to P50,000 for the first place in the senior citizens, school-based elementary, and school-based high school categories.
A cash prize of P75,000 will be given to the first place in the open category.
The Koro sa Pasko grand finals will be on December 7 at the Rizal Park.
