The City Government of Davao, through the City Health Office (CHO) continues to give free shots against flu, pneumonia, human papillomavirus (HPV), and measles, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria (MRTD).
The vaccination will be at the Food Choices, on the third floor of the Abreeza Mall in Bajada, on January 18, 19, 25, and 26. It began on January 9 to 12 of this year.
Dr. Joy Espina of the City Health Office, in an interview with Madayaw Dabaw, said people should take advantage of the free vaccination, knowing that December and January are flu seasons.
She said the vaccinations are also offered at the district health offices.
“Naa ra sa pinakaduol nato nga mga health centers. Kung asa pod mo nagtrabaho pangitaon lang gyud ninyo asa ang mga district health offices nga naga-offer og flu vaccine ug pneumococcal vaccine, pati tong MRTD (It’s in our nearest health centers. If you are working, simply locate the district health offices that offer pneumococcal and flu shots, including the MRTD),” she said.
Free flu or influenza vaccinations are available to the general public, 20 years of age and older. Grades 1 and 7 students are eligible for the MRTD vaccinations.
Senior citizens and those with co-morbidities can receive the pneumococcal vaccine, while children aged 9 to 14 can receive the HPV vaccine.
The immunization will start at 10 a.m. till 2 p.m., until the supplies run out, on a “first to come, first to be served” basis.
Espina also urged Dabawenyos to bring any government-issued I.D. for adults and student I.D. for the youth. CIO
