White-collar workers with professional licenses may now apply and pay for their annual Professional Tax Receipt (PTR) online.
The City Government of Davao, through the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), on January 5 launched the online platform for the application of the PTR. This is in line with the local government’s thrust to digitalize day-to-day transactions and simplify the delivery of public services to Dabawenyos.
Through the platform, working professionals with a Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID need only to visit the platform, register, set up their account with a username and password, log in and proceed with the PTR application process following the instructions provided on the website.
Taxpayers will have to provide information on their PRC license and upload a photo of their PRC ID to proceed with payment. They may choose to pay over the counter in any CTO outlets or pay online through digital payment platforms linked in the site.
The use of the online platform is highly encouraged for a faster and easier PTR application. The PTR, which under RA 7160 or the Local Government Code shall not exceed P300, must be paid before January 31 to avoid penalties and surcharges.
