The Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is conducting a training on learning Ultra Behavioral Impact for Development (LUBID) to help promote youth development.

The training was participated in by social workers from the 15 district offices of the CSWDO and members of Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), and will run from September 4 to September 6.

Sharlene Villaluz, Focal Person of CSWDO’s Child and Youth Development Program, said the training intends to enhance the leadership skills of the youth sector and the district social workers.

“Through the activities sa training, ma-enhance ila’ng leadership skills, madevelop ila’ng ability to discover their goals, strengths and weaknesses (The activities in the training will help enhance their leadership skills, develop their abilities in identifying their goals, strengths and weaknesses),” she said.

“Ma-enhance pud ilahang self-awareness ug ilahang ability maka-influence sa ubang tao (The training will also improve their self-awareness as well as their ability to ‘influence’ others),” Villaluz added.

The training also aims to further equip them with proper knowledge on how to implement programs for youth development in the barangay level.

Villaluz also said that they invited members of the PYAP for the training as it is also important to enhance the leadership skills of the youth.

“Through this training, their self-esteem will be enhanced as well as their confidence, motivations, guide them sa ilahang course of actions kung paunsa na they will serve as role models to their fellow youth (The training will help boost their self-esteem, confidence, and motivation. It will help guide them on their courses of action on how they can become role models to their fellow youth),” she said. CIO
