In celebration of the Road Safety Month, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Davao Region will offer its theoretical driving course for free to select student permit applicants.

Eleanor Calderon, LTO XI Regional Director, bared on Wednesday that the office will give one million applicants from all over the country free driving courses as one of its major programs for the Road Safety Month.

“Hulaton pa namo ang ihatag nila nga target sa part sa Davao Region nga mangadto mi sa mga barangay throughout Davao Region (We are still waiting for them to give us the target for the part of Davao Region that we will go to the barangays throughout Davao Region),” Calderon said.

“We will identify our recipients or beneficiaries ani sa mga barangays,” she added.

The LTO will also continue to deliver its regular programs alongside its activities for the month of May.

“Nagapadayon ang atong mga caravans, atong mga outreach programs sa atong barangays. Kung diri sa Davao maabot ta didto sa Baganihan, sa Marilog (Our caravans continue, our outreach programs in the barangays. Here in Davao City, we go as far as Baganihan, Marilog),” Calderon said.

The LTO also continues to conduct its education and information campaign targeting students in partnership with the Department of Education.

For those in Davao City, Calderon announced, the new LTO building in Quimpo Boulevard is now open to clients. She said the new building will decongest the LTO office in Ecoland.

“With that, ang mga Dabawenyo na mu-transact matunga na. They can come here diri sa Quimpo in front of Felcris and the other one at SM. Both catering to license and registration,” she said.

Calderon said the LTO is conducting studies to add more extension offices within the city and the region.

“A study is being done right now and we have to identify places nga asa gyud namo mapaduol ang gobyerno or ang LTO sa mga tao,” she said. CIO.
