The Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) said the 88th Araw ng Dabaw celebration concluded peacefully and successfully.

PSSO head Angel Sumagaysay, in an interview with the Madayaw Program over city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR), thanked the safety and security team and officials who worked tirelessly to guarantee the attendee’s safety.

“Nagasalig ta sa ilaha (security and safety cluster) nga kung unsa man ang event sa Davao City permanente lang gihapon ang ilahang suporta ug tabang para sa atoang syudad (We rely on them them (security and safety cluster) that they will always be there to support and help our city),” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to the community for working together to make the celebration of Davao’s founding anniversary peaceful and joyful.

The Araw ng Dabaw featured various events, including the much anticipated Parada Dabawenyo, which drew more than 20,000 participants.

A total of 8,369 public safety and security personnel were deployed during the month-long celebration in addition to the 4,000 personnel deployed during the Parada.

The collaborative efforts of the security cluster, government officials, Dabawenyos, and even visitors were instrumental in maintaining order throughout the festivities. The efforts resonated with the city’s commitment to public safety and underscored the spirit of cooperation among Dabawenyos. CIO
