A total of 22 artists and painters representing the 11 ethnolinguistic groups of the city will showcase their creative works during the Pinta ta, Tribo ta! initiative of the reigning Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2024.
Pinta ta, Tribo ta is a project of the reigning Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2024 and the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO), which aims to empower indigenous artists, preserve cultural heritage, and inspire the youth through visual storytelling.
Participating artists from the five Indigenous People (IP) groups of the city include Benjie Pepe and Chyna Kristal Balane of the Ata Tribe; Florenz Nick Cabuyao and Geran Jacob Culipapa of the Bagobo Klata; Amelia Bucog and Maricar Utay of the Bagobo Tagabawa; Jeneve Guinto and Prince Leonard Benito of the Matigsalug Tribe; and Joquim Alig and Rhyme Jay Onse of the Obu Manuvu.
Artists from the Moro groups include Johaira Muripaga and Kahar Lidasan of Bangsa Iranun; Atharee Alwashi and Shamsa Ayesha Khan of Bangsa Kagan; Alfaroq Kadir and Ahmeddeedat Kadir of Bangsa Maguindanaon; Halidah Manan and Juhaifah Marohomsalic of Bangsa Maranao; April Elicot and Kristel Cyra Tangkih of Bangsa Sama; and Alyssa Kadir and Sheila Mae Datuin of Bangsa Tausug.
These artists will bring their heritage to life through artworks that celebrate identity, unity, and tradition.
Their masterpieces will be displayed at the Kadayawan Village from August 9–10, 2025.
