The 20 Dabawenyas who will vie for the coveted Mutya ng Dabaw crown and champion their advocacies for the community have been chosen.
On February 22, the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) held the sashing ceremony and press conference of the official 20 candidates for the Mutya ng Dabaw 2025.
The candidates embodied not only the beauty and grace of a Dabawenya, but also the intelligence and passion to make an impact and promote the city and its people.
During the press conference, the candidates presented their advocacies which highlighted environmental preservation, women empowerment, women’s and children’s rights, accessible healthcare, environmental sustainability, and inclusivity among others.
Mutya ng Dabaw 2024 Hanna Maj Piccio also reminded the candidates that should they win the crown, they have to always remember the responsibility that comes with it.
“Always feel the weight of the crown. You always have to feel the heavy, heavy weight on your head and on your shoulders,” she said.
The Mutya ng Dabaw 2025 Grand Coronation Night is set on March 15 at the USeP Gymnasium. CIO
