The Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) has surpassed its P44-Million target revenue for 2023 with a surplus of more than P8 million.

The DCOTT generated a total income of P52,170,140.75 from January to December 2023, hitting the target revenue by 118.58 percent.

“Na-reach na pud namo ang among target, the P44 million for this year. In fact, gahapon naa na’y report atong City Treasurer’s Office and it’s almost P53 million (We have also reached our target—the P44 million this year. In fact, yesterday there is already a report from the City Treasurer’s Office and it’s almost P53 million),” DCOTT Manager Aissa Usop said.

Usop, during the Madayaw Davao program of the Davao City Disaster Radio on Thursday, said bus companies also reported a significant rise in their income in 2023 which they attributed to the higher number of passengers going through DCOTT.

Bus operators and crowd controllers, Usop said, noted that the influx of passengers in 2023 was significantly higher than in 2022. She also said that despite the larger crowds, the wait time for passengers had been significantly cut down due to a more orderly security and boarding system.

“If we are going to compare last year ug sa karon, mas daghan gyud og pasahero nato karon, kaya lang,—and I’m happy for this, dili sila matanggong og dugay sa sulod. So paspas ang flow na makasakay sila (If we are going to compare last year and now, there really were passengers this year but, and I’m happy for this, they will no longer be stuck inside. So the rate of boarding is faster),” the DCOTT manager said.

Usop said additional amenities and improvements to the infrastructure of the terminal are in the pipeline. CIO
