The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) will continue to distribute financial subsidies to 4,031 solo parents in Davao City.

Karla Quintela, Focal Person of the CSWDO Solo Parent Social Welfare Operation Division, said during the I-Speak Media Forum on Thursday that out of the total beneficiaries for the first quarter, a total of 2,570 solo parents have already received assistance for the first quarter of 2025.

The remaining 1,461 are scheduled to receive their subsidies in the coming months.

Several districts, including Talomo-A, City Poblacion-A, Toril, Marilog, and Calinan, are still awaiting fund distribution.

Quintela said Davao City has 6,806 registered solo parents.

The subsidy program, implemented under Executive Order No. 25, Series of 2024, aims to help ease the financial burden of solo parents by providing a P1,000 monthly subsidy. Eligible recipients include those earning at or below minimum wage with dependent children aged 0 to 22 years old.

Interested solo parents who want to avail of the subsidy and other benefits are encouraged to visit the nearest CSWDO district office and submit the necessary documents which include the original birth certificate of their children, marriage or death certificate (if applicable), barangay certification, CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) for unmarried solo parents, and proof of income (Income Tax Return, official pay slip, or low-income certification).

Quintela said that Davao City has 224 organized groups which they mainly used to pass information for the subsidies and other programs of CSWDO.

She said that services and programs for solo parents include Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) for parents facing emergencies, capability-building programs to enhance livelihood opportunities, and sociocultural and psychosocial support to improve mental and emotional well-being.

She also called on those who have yet to register to visit their nearest CSWDO district offices or the main office located at Pichon St, Poblacion District, Davao City. For inquiries, solo parents may call 225-0417. CIO
