In celebration of the 122nd Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI and the Public Employment Service Office in Davao City will be conducting its annual Labor Day Jobs Fair at the SM City Annex Event Center on May 1.
A total of 6,147 job openings will be available to applicants who may opt to pre-register online or simply walk-in on the day of the event. Of these openings, a total of 2,862 are for local employment and 3,285 are bound overseas.
DOLE XI Administrative Officer V Lorraine Grace Ugsang said the agency targets to declare around 5-10 percent of applicants hired on the spot during the fair.
Ugsang bared that the 44 local employers participating in the event are mostly looking for customer service workers.
“For top three job vacancies, we have customer service representative, customer sales representative, and customer service champion na mga positions. That is for local,” she said.
Meanwhile, the 10 overseas employers that are based mostly in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and Japan are looking for service crew, on-call cleaners, and fabricators, among others.
Ugsang said 1,084 people have already pre-registered for the May 1 fair. On-site registration will open at 7:30 a.m.
DOLE XI will also hold job fairs in Tagum and Digos on the same date.
