TF Davao Commander, Col. Darren Comia said in an interview with the City Information Office (CIO) that they immediately turned over these individuals to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) for legal action.
“Normally, ang na apprehend naman natin are from other areas, not from Davao City, iilan lang yung mga from Davao City, so meaning ang drugs is galing sa labas papasok sa loob, yun yung nangyayari. Immediately kasi tinuturn over natin sa Davao City Police Office for legal action kasi sila kasi yung nagpafile ng kaso, and I believe all cases has been filed promptly sa proper court [Normally, majority of the individuals we apprehended are from areas outside Davao. This shows that the drugs are from outside the city and are only smuggled inside. We immediately turned them over to the Davao City Police Office for legal action since they are the ones who file the cases, and I believe all cases have been promptly filed with the proper courts],” he said.
Comia also said that they have strengthened the checkpoints in the 9 entry points of the city to ensure the safety and security of Davao.
The Task Force Davao continues to urge Dabawenyos and people who plan to visit the city to cooperate with the safety and security forces to maintain the peace, security, and order of Davao City.
“Para sa lahat ng Dabawenyos and para doon sa mga taong gustong pumunta ng Davao City mayroon tayong pinapatupad na campaign yung culture of security campaign na kung saan iniencourage natin ang lahat na magvolunteer, ivolunteer ang mga kanya-kanyang sarili sa mga inspection na gagawin ng ating mga kasamahan sa Task Force Davao at sa Davao City Police Office. Napakaraming checkpoints along the way and yung pagvolunteer isang aspeto na kailangang-kailangan para at least maging maayos ang lahat. Of course, report. Ireport ninyo yung mga kahina-hinalang mga tao sa inyong lugar, ireport ang mga unattended baggage, ireport ang mga incidents na nangyayari sa inyong lugar. Hindi namin magagawa ang trabaho ng security forces kung walang magrereport sa amin [To all Dabawenyos and to those who plan on coming here in Davao, we are implementing a campaign in the city, the Culture of Security Campaign wherein everyone is encouraged to volunteer: yield to inspections conducted by the Task Force Davao and the Davao City Police Office. There are numerous checkpoints around Davao, and volunteering yourselves is necessary to ensure the safety of everyone. Of course, report: report suspicious people in your area; report unattended baggage; and report incidents in your area. The security cluster will not be able to perform our duties efficiently if no one will report incidents],” Comia said. CIO
