In anticipation of the summer season and election, the Task Force Davao has heightened the security measures in all major entry points across Davao City to ensure public safety and order.

Major Ronnel Avanzado, Spokesperson of Task Force Davao, said the move aims to ensure that residents and tourists enjoy a safe and orderly summer.

He also explained that the increased vehicular traffic in these checkpoints is intended to maintain a high standard of security during the busy summer vacation period.

He also appealed for the cooperation and understanding of travelers entering Davao City.

“Hinihingi lang namin yong konting pasensya nyo, please coordinate na lang dahil may ini-implement tayong culture of security (We ask for your patience, please coordinate as we implement a culture of security),” he said.

He said Task Force Davao is also preparing security measures for the upcoming elections.

Avanzado confirmed that the unit is working closely with the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and other government agencies to support the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in ensuring a peaceful and honest electoral process.

Despite the heightened security measures, he assured Dabawenyos that there are currently no threats reported or monitored in any of Davao City’s barangays.

He also called on Dabawenyos to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to maintain peace and security throughout the summer and election period. CIO
