As part of the Araw ng Dabaw festivities, groups from the city’s security and safety sector showed off their musical talents during the Security and Safety Cluster Night at the Rizal Park on Wednesday.

Six bands representing the National Bureau of Investigation XI, 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology XI, Philippine National Police XI, Police Regional Office XI, AFP Eastern Mindanao Command, and the Davao City Police Office gave electric musical performances for a crowd of fellow security and safety personnel and participants to the festivities of Araw ng Dabaw.

Davao City Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) Head Ret. Col. Angel Sumagaysay, in a speech, thanked all security and safety personnel from the army, navy, air force, police and other law enforcement agencies in attendance for their untiring service to the public and unwavering dedication to the preservation of peace and order in the city.

“You are the instruments that blend harmoniously to maintain the peace and order of our city. It is due to your efforts that Davao City, for the longest time, never had any armed confrontation in its urban center and rural hinterlands, which resulted to our steady economic progress in investors and tourism,” Sumgaysay said of the armed forces.

According to Sumagaysay, the concert aims to give back to the city’s security and safety personnel through “a language we all understand.” He said it also aims to be a platform by which the security and safety cluster can “de-stress and strengthen their camaraderie.”

The concert was also attended by EastMinCom Deputy Commander BGen Consolito Yecla, Task Force Davao Commander Col. Darren Comia, City Transport and Traffic Management Office Ret. Col. Dionisio Abude, DCPO Spokesperson PCapt. Hazel Tuazon, CDRRMO Head Ret. Col Alfredo Baloran, and other public officials. CIO
