The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will deploy more personnel for the 2024 “Traslacion” on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from the San Alfonso Ma. de Liguori Parish in Mandug to GKK Our Lady of Penafrancia at Deca Homes Tigatto.
“Naa ta’y 80 ka PNP personnel nga ma-deploy ana, wala pa’y labot ang mga force multipliers, police auxiliaries, and other volunteers nga maghatag sa ilahang libre nga serbisyo (We have 80 PNP personnel for deployment, the number does not include force multipliers, police auxiliaries, and other volunteers who would give their free services),” DCPO Spokesperson PCapt Hazel Tuazon said in an interview over Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday.
Tuazon said that in case the deployment is not enough, they have 20 personnel ready to be deployed from the City Mobile Force Company.
GKK Our Lady of Penafrancia Chapel Youth President Thony Torres said that “Translacion” means the transfer of the Black Nazarene from one place to another.
The assembly time for the Traslacion will be at 6 am on January 9th at the San Alfonso Ma. de Liguori Parish Grounds. The Traslacion will start at 8 am from the Parish to GKK Our Lady of Penafrancia.
Torres said that devotees and non-devotees are invited to join the celebration of the feast of the Black Nazarene. CIO
