Sumagaysay said the bulk of the deployment is for the Parada Dabawenyo and the Mutya ng Dabaw.

He said that PSSO conducted security coordination meetings with the City Tourism Operations Office onboard to prepare for the Araw events.
The PSSO, as a member of the Araw ng Dabaw Execom, will also be providing updates on security matters during their meetings.
The same security restrictions implemented in the past, such as no backpacks and big bags, no laser lights, no bomb jokes, no firearms, and no littering, will be followed.
Bringing sharp objects, drinking alcoholic beverages, and smoking in public places are also prohibited.
Dabawenyos are also advised not to bring infants and small children during any event and are also advised to take off their jackets and sunglasses upon going through inspection areas.
The 87th Araw ng Dabaw activities will officially open on Friday, March 1, 2024, which was also declared as an official holiday by the MalacaƱang.
