The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) said on Monday that it will deploy over 300 personnel for the Kadayawan Festival.
CDRRMO Head Alfredo Baloran said that among them are trained barangay volunteers
“Actually naa nami deployment of our emergency responders, actually gi-include na namo diha ang among na train na mga medical responders from the barangays kung nay mga activities within their barangays isa sila nga murespond. But for the major events of the Kadayawan, some of them will be utilized to augment our resources na naa diri sa big activities (We have prepared for the deployment of our emergency responders, we included the trained medical responders from the barangays whom we trained to respond to activities within their barangays. But for the major events of Kadayawan, some of them will be utilized to augment our resources for the big activities),” Baloran said.
Baloran said that they also have coordinated with repair shops to prioritize the repair of emergency vehicles in the event that they will encounter issues during the Kadayawan celebrations.
“We have enough vehicles, our resources will be augmented by resources coming from the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (BDRRMCs). We included their resources for the deployment, including patient transport vehicles and of course, the responders,” Baloran said.
Baloran urged Dabawenyos to prepare for the high heat index during the daytime and localized thunderstorms and rain showers during evenings.
He said that for safety considerations, their office relayed an advance forecast to the Kadayawan street parade and float parade organizers to ensure that performers will be advised on the weather conditions during the highlight events.
