Children and the young at heart may now enjoy the game booths and free food as the Perya sa Pasko Fiesta at the Rizal Park ground is now open to the public.

The Perya sa Pasko Fiesta is one of the activities set by the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) in celebration of Pasko Fiesta sa Davao. It is designed to bring joy to Dabawenyos during the Christmas season. It features a range of child-friendly entertainment like inflatable slides to game booths.

Children and young adults can also get free popcorn, ice cream, and cotton candy. The perya, which will run until December 27, is open from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

CTOO’s administrative officer Charlotte Parba, in an interview with the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio, also urged Dabawenyos to go to the Perya for the variety of attractions.

“Atoa na’ng i-introduce sa atoa’ng mga anak, mga chikiting na wala pa nakaila og perya, kasi iba na ‘yong nakasanayan nila’ng mode of entertainment ngayon (So, let’s introduce this to our children, who have never known a perya, because they are used to a different mode of entertainment now),” she said.

She said that aside from free food, they will also put up rides for the children.

Jasselyn Cuarisma a resident of Ecoland, in an interview with Madayaw, said she was happy watching her children play at the Perya.

“Proud kaayo mi nga naka-Mayor mi og ingon ani, kay tungod sa iya’ng pahalipay, ang mga bata, grabe, sangko sa langit ila’ng kalipay. Mao’ng lipay pod ko (We are very proud that we have a mayor like this, because of his initiatives, the children are also happy. That’s why I’m also happy),” she said.

Cuerisma was also thankful to the organizers of the Pasko Fiesta for bringing joy to the children in the event’s activities. CIO
