A total of 1,152 participants attended the Labor Day job fair at the SM Ecoland on Thursday.
The job fair was spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the city government of Davao through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
A total of 249 job seekers were also hired on the spot in addition to the 257 applicants who showed potential as near-high candidates who will undergo further interviews in the coming days.
DOLE- Davao earlier announced that simultaneous job fairs took place in Nabunturan in Davao de Oro, and Davao City.
A total of 45 employers have committed to participate, offering more than 9,000 job vacancies across various industries.
The industries recruiting at the job fair were diverse. Administrative and support service activities led the offerings with 3,504, vacancies, followed by positions in wholesale and retail trade, financial and insurance activities, and manufacturing.
