A total of 217 seniors in Davao City will receive cash incentives on the third payout of the Expanded Centenarian Program.
The third batch comprises 123 seniors turning 80, 65 seniors turning 85, 26 seniors turning 90, one senior turning 95, and two centenarians.
Under the program, seniors who turn 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old will each receive P10,000, while those celebrating their 100th birthday will receive a total of P200,000 from the local and national government.
Lorenzo Borja, Head of the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA), explained that 171 seniors already benefited from the first two payout distributions held on February 26 at the Almendras Gym and on March 19 at the People’s Park.
In the first distribution, 42 of the 78 seniors were 80 years old, 23 were 85, eight were 90, four were 95, and one was a centenarian.
In the second payout, 60 of the 93 beneficiaries were 80-year-olds, 22 were 85, nine were 90, and two were 95.
Borja added that the increase in the beneficiaries in the third batch was a result of more seniors submitting their applications.
For updates on the payout schedule, beneficiaries will be notified via text message from the OSCA. CIO
