Davao City reconstituted the awards committee for the Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) to carry out the task of determining the top performing Lupong Tagapamayapa in the city.
The city government on December 23, 2024 issued Executive Order 37, Series of 2024, or an Order Reconstituting the LTIA – City Awards Committee.
The EO is in line with Republic Act 7160 that mandates the Department of the Interior and Local Government to provide a system of granting of benefits and incentives to the Lupon, for the reason of exemplary performance.
The DILG, through the Bureau of Local Government Supervision, has established the LTIA to accord government recognition to the Most Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa in the country. It also issued memorandum circulars to support the incentives awards. The latest, provides for an LTIA Enhanced Criteria and Guidelines.
Section 1 of the EO provides for the composition of the committee.
The LTIA-CAC shall be chaired by the DILG-Davao City Operations Office City Director with the Department of Justice- City Prosecutor as vice chair.
The members of the committee are the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Executive Judge; Liga ng mga Barangay President; City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) Representative; and City-based Non-Government Organization Representative;
Section 2 or the Duties and Functions of the RTIA-CAC are to initiate and coordinate the necessary activities toward the successful implementation of the LTIA in the city; disseminate information on Awards to generate awareness and support from public and private sectors within the city; select and submit to the Regional Awards Committee the best performing Lupon within the city; secure funding and counterpart prizes from other partner agencies; plan and implement appropriate awarding ceremonies.
