In light of the recent rumors spread on social media, the Davao City Council called on Dabawenyos to be vigilant against unverified information and to remain united amid attempts of undermining due process, institutions, and the city.

In his privilege speech during the 22nd Regular session of the 20th City Council, 1st District Councilor Bonz Andre Militar said the rumored suspensions of city government officials that plagued social media in recent days, whether or not grounded in truth, have caused unease and speculation among Dabawenyos.

Following this, he urged Dabawenyos to refrain from jumping to conclusions, and to stand for unity and transparency.

Militar also urged his fellow government officials to continue upholding peace and order, and to remain true and committed to ensuring an orderly and progressive city for every Dabawenyo.

Councilor Temujin Ocampo seconded Militar’s statement, and said that they will continue to work hard for the city. He also said that they will continue to support and rally behind the City Mayor in his continuous call for transparency, accountability, peace, and security of Davao City. CIO
