The City Government of Davao received a Certificate of Commendation from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for implementing the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS).

The commendation was given on Monday and was received by Atty. Francis Layog, the Acting City Administrator, and Maribel Paguican, head of the Business Bureau.

ARTA Director General Secretary Ernesto V. Perez said during his speech that Davao City is the 29th recipient of the commendation for its efforts in streamlining and digitizing government processes, specifically in the processing of business permits through the eBOSS.

According to Perez, through the eBOSS, it is easier and more convenient to apply for business permits, thereby giving more room for investors to come and invest in the city.

Paguican said, in an interview with the City Information Office (CIO), that the city is proud to have received the commendation. She also extended her gratitude to key stakeholders who helped implement the digitalization, including the City Information Technology Center (CITC) and the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO).

Paguican also extended her gratitude to other local regulatory offices for their cooperation, as well as to the strong leadership of City Mayor Sebastian Duterte.

“We are very thankful for the cooperation and above all for the strong leadership of our local chief executive and the partnership with the council because we cannot do anything without the enabling instrument. You see, we were able to come up with an instrument nga nagather ang 182 barangays to support the implementation of ARTA’s ease in doing business [We are very thankful for the cooperation and above all, for the strong leadership of our local chief executive, as well as for the partnership with the council which enabled us to come up with an instrument, with which we were able to gather all 182 barangays in the city to support the implementation of ARTA’s ease of doing business],” she said.

Paguican also said that the Business Bureau will continuously improve its system and strive to give its clients ease in doing business. CIO
