The Davao City Business Bureau logged a consistent increase in the application and renewal of the Business Permit in the city from 2022 to 2024.
The business permit is a necessary requirement for businesses to operate in the city.
In 2022, the Business Bureau logged a total of 49,935 permit applications. Out of this number, 44,935 permits were issued leading to a revenue collection amounting to P1,558,491,449.99.

In 2024, Business Permit applications reached a total of 52,219. The same year saw a significant increase in the number of new permit applications at 6,496.
This is significantly higher than its 2022 and 2023 new applications at 168 and 210, respectively.
Maribel Paguican, Head of the Business Bureau, said in an interview with the City Information Office that the consistent increase in business permit application and renewal is proof of the city’s consistent economic growth.
The increase also leads to more employment opportunities and a good competition in the market that further boosted the city’s economy.
The renewal and application of the business permit is a year-round activity of the Business Bureau. It can be processed either online through the Online Business Permit Licensing System (https://appbts.davaocity.gov.ph/) or manually by visiting its office located on the ground floor of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Building.
Late registration of businesses will incur 25 percent penalty with two percent monthly interest.
Paguican said that business owners still have the option of transacting manually to accommodate those who are not versed in digital processes.
She also urged business owners to check and review the amended ordinances so as not to incur penalties during the renewal and application periods. CIO
