The City Health Office will continue its flu vaccination at Osmeña Park from December 26-27, 2024.
CHO Head Dr. Tomas Miguel Ababon told Madayaw Davao on Monday that the flu and pneumonia vaccination will continue during the said dates.
The CHO started the vaccination at Osmeña Park on December 18, 2024.
Dr. Annaliza Malubay of the CHO also said during the Madayaw Live interview on December 23, 2024 that the priority of the flu vaccination are government employees, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.
She said that for the pneumococcal vaccines, the number one priority are senior citizens.
CHO Technical Division Head Dr. Julinda Acosta said the flu and pneumococcal vaccines are available at the health centers since the last week of November.
Acosta said that they are planning an intensified vaccination in malls next year.
Dr. Joy Espina, also of the CHO, urged Dabawenyos to have themselves vaccinated against flu and pneumonia.
“Gina-awhag namo tanang Dabawenyo nga magpabakuna og flu ug pnemoccocal vaccines, kani sila nga bakuna are safe and effective ayaw kamo kahadlok (We encourage Dabawenyos to have themselves vaccinated against flu and pneumonia. These vaccines are safe and effective, so you don’t have to worry),” she said. CIO
