The Davao City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO) continues to bring its services closer to the communities through scheduled barangay visits and participation in barangay caravans as part of its rabies control and animal husbandry disease prevention and control programs.
For the month of June, the CVO will visit several barangays to conduct free anti-rabies vaccination and castration on cats and dogs, Veterinary Integrated Barangay Extension Services (VIBES), Artificial Insemination (AI) to large cattles and carabaos, and Information Education Campaigns (IEC).
On June 9, the CVO will be in Barangay Mapula to conduct free anti-rabies vaccination, and in Barangay Bato on June 13.
The CVO will conduct an IEC in Barangay Carmen on June 14, and an anti-rabies vaccination activity in Barangay Riverside on June 16.
Also on June 16, the CVO will conduct VIBES and AI in Barangay Sirawan.
During VIBES, the CVO offers services including pregnancy diagnosis in female large animals, artificial insemination in cattle and carabao, deworming in livestock both large and small ruminants and poultry, consultation and treatment in livestock and poultry, Hemosep vaccination in livestock, vitamin supplementation in large and small ruminants and poultry. The CVO will also conduct synchronization or the hormone injection to induce estrus in large cattle. Other services include anti-rabies vaccination.
Personnel from the CVO will also conduct free castration services in Barangay Toril Proper on June 17, anti-rabies vaccination in Barangay Riverside, and VIBES and AI in Barangay Mudiang.
On June 18, residents of Barangays Marapangi and Riverside may avail of free anti-rabies vaccination.
From June 19–20, the CVO will continue its free anti-rabies vaccination services in Barangay Riverside.
Residents of Barangay Sirawan may also avail of CVO’s VIBES and AI on June 19, and in Barangay Communal on June 23 for a free anti-rabies vaccination services.
Free anti-rabies vaccination services will be available in Barangay Communal on June 24, while Barangay Malamba residents may avail of free AI from the CVO.
The CVO will also be in Barangay Baguio Proper to provide free castration services on June 25, and in Barangay Communal for free anti-rabies vaccination services on the same day.
Free anti-rabies vaccination services will be offered to the pets of residents of Barangays Lubogan and Communal on June 26; while on June 27, the CVO will provide AI services for large cattles and carabaos in Barangay Malamba.
