The Davao City Health Office (CHO), through its City Population Division, continues to offer free No Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) services as an alternative family planning method to Dabawenyos.
The NSV is a permanent family planning method with a procedure that only lasts for 10 to 15 minutes. It does not require any incisions and stitches and has a recovery period of one to two days. It also requires minimal aftercare.
Every last Friday of the month, the City Population Division conducts free NSV services in the Buhangin Vasectomy Center.
For May, the City Population Division’s free NSV is scheduled for May 31.
The NSV is safe and poses lower risks compared to bilateral tubal ligation. It also has an effective rate of 99.85 percent.
Dabawenyo males who no longer wish to have more children are encouraged to avail of the free NSV. Interested Dabawenyos may visit the City Population Division’s Facebook page or reach out to their office through email: citypopulationofficeofdavao@gmail.com, or message them through this number: 09952024680.
