More than 100 residents of Barangay Matina Crossing received services during the Medical and Legal Aid Caravan on Wednesday, March 26.

Councilor Luna Acosta led the initiative, in partnership with the City Health Office (CHO), Department of Health (DOH) Region XI, Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Family Planning Organization of the Philippines, JMC College of Medicine, Sinag, JCI Greater Davao Inc., and Tray’s Davao, among others.

She emphasized that the yearly Medico-Legal Caravan is designed to bring essential legal and medical assistance directly to Dabawenyos in their communities.

She also noted that it was not the first time the Medico-Legal Caravan was conducted, as they previously visited Barangays Bucana, Dumoy, Maa, Talomo, and several others. She added that they plan to bring it across Davao City.

The caravan offered various free services, including medical consultations and legal services, HIV screenings, ultrasound for women, medicines, and vitamins. CIO
