The City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) will have some 6,000 drug reformees as beneficiaries for its Health Caravan starting November 20.
The Health Caravan is an initiative of the CADAC in celebration of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week that aims to promote awareness and programs to the public against the evil effects of illegal drug use.
Jaffar Marohomsalic, CADAC officer-in-charge, said the caravan’s main beneficiaries will be drug reformees who are still enrolled for ongoing monitoring in their respective barangays.
He said that during the drug prevention week, they will visit each barangay and district in Davao City to give health services as well as hold a job fair in coordination with the Public Employment Services Office (PESO).
“We will also give health services because we know for a fact that these people also need to be monitored, dili lang sa ilahang activites, but also sa ilahang health (We will also give health services, because we know for a fact that these people also need to be monitored, not only on their activities but also on their health),” he said during the I-speak Media Conference on Thursday.
“It’s really important for us nga mahatagan nato sila og mga programa na maka-benefit gyud sila, and not just themselves, but especially their family (It’s really important for us that we give them programs that can really benefit them, not just themselves, but also their family),” he added. CIO
