The City Health Office, through its Population Division, continues to offer free No-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) to Dabawenyo families who no longer wish to have more children.
NSV is one of the permanent family planning methods offered by the City Population Division. It also highlights male participation in family planning.
Every last Friday of the month, the City Population Division conducts free NSV to interested male Dabawenyos at the Buhangin Vasectomy Center.
For this month, the free NSV is scheduled at 8 a.m. on April 25.
The NSV is non-intrusive with a procedure that only lasts for 10–15 minutes. It also requires minimal aftercare, and has a 99.85 percent effectivity rate.
In the first quarter of 2025, the City Population Division catered to 46 clients who availed of the free NSV service.
Dabawenyos who no longer wish to have more children are urged to avail of the CHO’s free NSV service.
