As part of its continuous effort to create a holistic and productive workplace for its employees, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) recently conducted a Human Behavior in an Organization (HBO) seminar at the Mergrande Ocean Resort.
The Human Behavior in an Organization seminar on October 1-5 was aimed at helping employees know themselves better, which will enable them to significantly enhance management strategies and overall organizational effectiveness.
Jasmine Gervacio, a personnel in charge of CSWDO, said the HBO seminar focused on knowing the employees’ behavior for their personal growth and satisfaction.
She said this is their proactive approach to helping their employees remember how they should treat their clients and adhere to their work ethics.
“Since we cater different kind of clients, especially sa amoang district offices, gusto lang namo ma-practice nila paunsa sila mag-atubang sa clients in a good way, and I-[instill] pud ang work ethics. It is very important, kay as professionals naa pod ta’y ginasunod nga work ethics jud (Since we cater different kinds of clients, especially in our district offices, we just want them to practice how to deal with clients in a good way, and also instill work ethics. It is very important because as professionals we also have to follow our work ethics),” Gervacio told the City Information Office.
She said they invited a resource speaker from the Leader Impact who discussed topics regarding work ethics and learning oneself.
A total of 1,059 CSWDO personnel from 15 district offices and residential care facilities attended the seminar.
CSWDO Acting Officer-In-Charge Julie Dayaday, in an interview with the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio, said the HBO is part of their 32nd anniversary celebration and is also their way to capacitate their employees.
She added that the employees had fun during the seminar.
“Gusto pud nato nga dili lang mag-celebrate, but we will also remind ang atoang mga personnel sa CSWDO nga unsa gyud ta diha sa sulod sa organization. So, very important kaayo nga kaila ta sa atoang kaugalingon, unsa akong kapasidad para makatabang ko (We also want to not only celebrate, but we will also remind our CSWDO personnel of what we really are in the organization. So, it is very important that we know ourselves, what is my capacity so that I can help),” she said.
“Nag-enjoy lang gyud, kay kabalo baya gyud ta nga ang CSWDO kay on the ground and daghan og mga challenges. So, mu-break pud mi sa amoang monotony (We just enjoyed it, because we know that CSWDO works on the ground and has many challenges. So, it was our time to break with our monotony),” she added.
Gervacio said it was their first time conducting the activity and was overwhelmed by the feedback received from the personnel.
“So far positive feedback pud tanan unya nakadungog pud mi nga kung naa pa ba’y chance, unta ma-usab na sad next year (So far, we received positive feedback from everyone, then also heard that some are also hoping to do it again next year),” she said. CIO
