The Commission on Elections Region XI on Monday announced that it will start the distribution of Voter’s Information Sheet (VIS), which will tell voters of the important information they need to know in connection with the May 12, 2025 elections.

Comelec Region XI Assistant Regional Director Atty. Gay Enumerables said during the Kapehan sa Davao media forum that their staff are now sorting the VIS to be delivered to each voter.

“Doon sa VIS nandoon ang presinto nila, yung name nila, yung procedure for voting, what to do on election day and the list of candidates (In the VIS, they could see their precinct number, their name, the procedure for voting, what to do on election day and the list of candidates),” Enumerables said.

She said that this is not the first time that VIS will be distributed, however, for the coming election, every voter will already be given VIS.

Each voter, after receiving the VIS, shall affix their signature confirming their receipt of the document.

Enumerables, during the forum, also downplayed the hesitancy of some voters to sign the confirmation receipt for the VIS. Comelec personnel outside Davao City had reported instances of voters not wanting to sign the confirmation receipt.

“Ang sole goal ng VIS is to inform,” she said.

Enumerables also warned that if they are not given VIS even after signing, it means that the persons handing them out are not from the Comelec.

She said they will also post on their official pages photos of the VIS so voters would know what the document looks like.

Enumerables said that only Comelec-hired individuals are tasked with delivering the VIS. No other entity shall be allowed to deliver the sheet, even barangay personalities.

The Comelec targets to complete the delivery of the VIS 20 days before the election.

Enumerables said that they are hopeful that the VIS will ease voters concerns during election day, especially in looking for their precincts.

The Comelec also placed measures to accommodate those who fail to find their precincts by setting up precinct finder, hotlines, and also voters assistance desks in the voting centers.

Election officers are also encouraged to post their hotlines this early. CIO
