The City Government of Davao through its Educational System Benefit Unit (EBSU) has accepted a total of 453 scholars for the school year 2025-2026. Of the 453, 424 scholars are under the tertiary education, and 29 for law and medical education.

EBSU Technical Staff, Emilio Domingo Jr, in an interview bared that orientations were conducted for tertiary education scholars and the law school and medical school scholars will have their orientation this week.

During orientation, scholarship policies are emphasized on the scholars especially the no “failing grade” requirement.

For Tertiary Education, 118 scholars under Part A receive ₱50,000, 125 under Part B receive ₱40,000, and 181 under Part C receive ₱15,000 in school fee assistance per semester.

EBSU selected a total of 12 scholars for medical school, of which 11 are full scholars, and one is half scholar.

For medical school, full scholars receive ₱140,000 in school fee assistance per semester plus a ₱20,000 book allowance, while half scholars receive ₱70,000 in school fee assistance per semester with a ₱10,000 book allowance.

For law school, 17 students qualified for the scholarship— seven as full scholars and ten as half scholars. Full scholars receive ₱50,000 for tuition and miscellaneous fees plus an ₱8,000 book allowance per semester, while half scholars receive ₱25,000 and a ₱4,000 book allowance per semester.

Domingo said they have completed processing the tertiary, medical, and law scholars, and are now focusing on the ongoing assessment of applicants for the Financial Assistance Program for Lumad students, the Technical and Vocational Skills Training Program, and the Educational Assistance for persons with disabilities or special needs.
