The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) on May 2, 2025 declared the local disaster council’s emergency operations center under a blue alert status to ensure coordinated actions and close monitoring of all response units of the barangays and security clusters in relation to the 2025 National and Local Elections.
In a memorandum signed by CDRRMO Head Alfredo Baloran, the blue alert status runs from May 2 to May 15, 2025.
“Following the guidelines of the National and Local Elections, the CDRRMOC Emergency Operations Center shall be activated BLUE to ensure continuous coordination of all efforts, monitor the situation closely, and implement security and safety measures for the safe observance of the event,” Baloran said.
He said that the declaration of the blue status is part of the CDRRMO’s efforts to intensify emergency preparedness measures to ensure public safety and security with the increased movement of people, heightened political activities, and potential risks of civil disturbance or natural hazards.
It shall help the city prepare for potential incidents that may occur throughout events necessitating immediate emergency and medical response.
“Emergency resources will be strategically placed to ensure the safety and security of all activities and to enhance public protection,” Baloran said. CIO
