The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has started the delivery of relief goods for its
disaster-hit neighboring towns.

CSWDO Head Julie P. Dayaday, in an interview with Madayaw Dabaw on Tuesday, said that the city government started providing relief goods to neighboring areas last week.

She said they finished the distribution for the disaster-hit families in Davao del Norte.

“Magpadayon pa gihapon until March 2 ang paghatod og relief goods sa Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro (The distribution of relief goods continues until
March 2 for Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro),” Dayaday said.

She added that the city government also responded to the request for augmentation of personnel for psychological first aid and psychosocial support. On Monday, six social workers, two psychology graduates, psychometricians, and para-professionals trained to conduct psychosocial support services were dispatched to Davao de Oro evacuation sites.

Dayaday said that they also asked those in other areas about their needs and supply them.

She said that as for Davao City, the CSWDO was already able to distribute welfare goods for calamity-stricken areas and is currently processing financial assistance for families whose houses were destroyed or partially damaged due to flooding and landslides. CIO
