The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said it anticipated possible scattered rainfall due to Easterlies and high temperatures during the daytime due to the existing El Niño phenomenon for the entire week.

“For this week based sa atong forecast, dili siya ingon nga for the whole week pero naa gyud mga number of days nga duna’y scattered rain showers nga dala ni Easterlies and some of the days may have cloudy skies or humid. Sa init karon is [ma-experience] during daytime kay naa paman gud ta sa El Niño (For this week, based on our forecast, it may not affect the whole week but we will have some days with scattered rain showers brought about by the easterlies, some days may have cloudy skies or humid. For the heat it may be experienced during daytime since we are still in El Niño),” CDRRMO Head Alfredo Baloran said in an interview with the City Information Office on Monday.

Baloran said that as rainy weather is expected those who live near rivers and creeks are being warned to always prepare for eventualities.

“Always ang atong ginapahimangno sa atong mga kaigsoonang Dabawenyo is kanunay gyud mo mag-amping ug magbinantayon kanunay kay ang easterlies naa ni siya’y dala nga localized thunderstorms ug adunay mga heavy rainfall that may result in flooding (We always warn Dabawenyos to always take care and stay alert always because the Easterlies bring along localized thunderstorms and there is possible heavy rainfall that may result in flooding),” Baloran said.
