The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) on Friday ended its month long observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month through a tree growing and parenting program in Barangay Eden, Toril.

CDRRMO Head Alfredo Baloran told reporters that the event was participated in by volunteer groups, Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, various national government offices, the Bureau of Fire Protection, other national government offices and representatives from city offices.

Lyndon Leovic Ancajas acting LECRD – Central 911 Division head, earlier said that the activity was dubbed a tree growing and parenting program because they aim to maintain the area in the succeeding years and to monitor the growth of plants.

About 1,000 seedlings of hard wood were planted during the event.

The activity is among the NDRM activities observed in July, which included training, blood-letting, city-wide shakeout tsunami and earthquake simulation exercise.

Ancajas on Thursday said that all of the activities are successful and their office was very thankful to all the partners, including Dabawenyos who participated in the various activities. CIO
