Thousands of worshippers of the Islamic faith gathered early this morning along Roxas Avenue for the joyous occasion of Eid’l Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Centralized Eid’l Fitr Congressional Prayer brought together the local Muslim community in a ritual steeped in tradition and spiritual renewal.

Following the morning prayers, community members exchanged warm wishes and shared traditional meals.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte, in a video message, highlighted the significance of Eid’l Fitr in reminding the faithful of Allah’s goodness and the vital teachings of the Holy Qur-an, which emphasizes unity and the sharing of blessings with family and those in need.

“Hangad namin na ang Eid ay magdala ng kapayapaan sa inyong mga puso, liwanag sa inyong diwa, at walang hanggang kasiyahan sa inyong tahanan (We wish that Eid brings peace to your hearts, light to your spirit, and everlasting happiness to your homes),” she said.

“Nawa’y tanggapin ang inyong mga panalangin, gantimpalaan ang inyong mga sakripisyo, at pagpalain ang inyong buhay ng pag-ibig at kasaganaan (May your prayers be accepted, your sacrifices rewarded, and your life blessed with love and prosperity),” she added.

The celebration has not only reinforced the deep-rooted faith of Davao City’s Muslim community but also served as a reminder of the values of compassion and generosity of every Muslim in the country. CIO
