The City Government of Davao, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), continues to show its support by providing a teacher to two daycare centers.
Just recently, a teacher was hired and assigned to the Homebased Child Development Centers in Puroks Licanan and Sagittarius in Barangay Lasang.
The two centers, officially opened on August 8, were established in these puroks to cater to residents around the area. In the centers, children can experience being in a classroom-like setting, preparing them for higher learning.
Alvin Juanillo, a social welfare assistant, said the Homebased Child Development Center will help the children develop social and emotional skills through activities that will help them interact with other kids from different backgrounds.
“Maka-help siya kay more on socialization man gud na sa daycare. Mag-help pod na nga mag-mingle pod sa ubang bata (It can help because the daycare center focuses on socialization. It can help children mingle with one another),” Juanillo said.
Juanillo added that while their children are in the center, parents will have time for other demanding aspects of their lives, especially household chores.
“Dako siya og help sa parents pod nga naa pa’y chance nga makatrabaho pa sa ilang balay (It would also help the parents to do work or do their household chores),” Juanillo said.
The two centers have a total of 36 children. CIO
