The Davao City Animal Disease and Diagnostic Laboratory of the City Veterinarian’s Office conducted an Information Education Campaign or IEC on Rabies Awareness and Responsible Pet ownership in LANGUB ELEMENTARY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in BRGY. LANGUB, TALOMO DISTRICT, DAVAO CITY on February 7, 2025.
Information Education Campaign is part of the Davao City Government’s efforts to disseminate information and educate the public specifically on Rabies.

The enforcement team of City Veterinarian’s Office under the Meat Livestock and Fish Inspection Division, confiscated undocumented pork more or less 200 kilos from a certain “John Doe” in Pag-asa, Bankerohan in violation of RA 10536(Meat Inspection Code of the Phil) and dispose at Malagos condemn pit while on February 12, current year, in Bankerohan and Pag-asa a 34.4 kilos of illegally caught fish in violation of RA 10654 (Fisheries Code of the Phil, as amended) and 8.9 kilos of stale fish in violation of RA 10611(Food Safety Act) was confiscated by the Fish Inspectors of the same division. The illegally caught fish was donated to charitable institution while the stale fish was disposed at Malagos condemn pit.

The DCADDL Personnel conducted an Iast January 31, 2025.

Post Meat Establishment Control Monitoring conducted August 13, 2024 at Bankerohan Public Market
yielded to the confiscation of *16 kilos of beef entrails unfit for human consumption , undocumented 145 kilos pork carcass with entrails and 3.6 kilos of chevon(goat meat) with a total of 164.7 kilos in violation of RA 10536(Meat Inspection Code of the Phil) and City Ordinance #0291-17 Series of 2017.the said meat was disposed at Malagos condemn pit. Blotter was lodged at San Pedro Police station.
While on Aug 24 the team conducted monitoring in Calinan public market and confiscated 91 kilos mishandled carabeef heads and meat , 17.46 undocumented pork lechon blotter lodged at Calinan police station
Aug 25, 2024 the team confiscated a total of 259.27 kilos of pork lechon as follows:
Sta Ana- 122.97 kilos
Bajada- 27.30 kilos
Tiongco- 31.8 kiols
Torres – 11.7 kilos
Mintal- 24.7 kilos
Deca Tacunan- 40.8 kilos
Police blotter at Sta. Ana, San Pedro and Mintal Police station
This is in violation of RA10536(Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines) and City Ordinance #0291-17 s of 2017
All confiscated meat were disposed at Malagos condemn pit.

About the City Veterinarian’s Office
The City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO) is the frontline in providing better quality of life for Davaoeños by continually improving animal welfare, promoting a healthy animal population as source of food using environmentally sound farming system, a source of power and transportation in the rural areas, and means to derive friendship and companionship. CVO was once a division under the City Mayor until after the issuance of Resolution No. 459, series of 1947 of the City Council of Davao in 1947. At present, the office, as a department, is responsible in handling meat inspections in slaughterhouses and operating city pound to control stray animals roaming around the city.
